Colour and Light: An exploration of the benefits and risks of colour and light in ophthalmology

The meeting will also touch on the risks involved and how these could be prevented.

Aims and Objectives:
• Explore the factors that define eye colour, including a new genetic association study of over 100,000 people
• Know about the results of light masks worn at night to treat diabetic retinopathy
• Review the potential harms of blue light and the evidence surrounding its prevention with blue filtered glasses and intraocular lenses
• Hear about the risks and benefits of sunlight exposure in Australia, preventing myopia but increasing skin cancer
